At Startup Village 2025, the Smelcom Robotics team presented the PROMETEY underwater robot. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, personally tested the vehicle and noted its clear controls and simple, convenient interface.
The vehicle was field-tested off Anapa with the Marine Rescue Service and proved effective at pollution response, collecting about 2 tonnes of fuel oil from the water area.
A digital twin of the vehicle was built - a simulator that dynamically reflects environmental parameters and trains operators without risk to equipment or people.
The company has appeared at Russia's key venues: SPIEF 2026, Startup Village 2023-2025, Unmanned Technologies 2025, Made in Russia 2024, Innoprom and VUZPROMEXPO. The project also featured in the Strong Ideas for a New Time forum, National Technology Initiative track.
Development is supported by the Innovation Assistance Foundation (FSI), the Foundation for Infrastructure and Educational Programs (FIEP) and KIMB, funding hardware development, neural-network training and preparation for serial production.
The company received support from the Innovation Assistance Foundation under TechnoStart-1 during the Arkhipelag 2121 intensive, funding neural-network training and hardware development.
Work on the PROMETEY underwater vehicles has run since 2019, producing several generations of the robot - from the first prototypes to an industrial system ready for serial production.
