Underwater-robot inspection of hydraulic engineering structures
The underwater part is where a defect shows up first and stays hidden longest. PROMETEY records its condition with no diver deployment, no shutdown of the facility and no waiting on the weather.
Federal Law 117-FZ obliges the owner to arrange regular surveys. Oversight rests with Rostekhnadzor (the industrial-safety regulator); the procedure is set by Government Decree No. 1080; the requirements by the Federal Norms & Rules, order No. 151 of 08.05.2024. The result is documented in a report following the form of order No. 497 and entered into the structure's safety passport.
What PROMETEY inspects
PROMETEY does not fully replace divers. Tactile inspection, contact thickness gauging and repair remain a diver's job. The vehicle covers visual and visual-measurement surveys, locating and documenting defects, and work where a diver dive is impossible or unreasonably expensive.
Will Rostekhnadzor accept survey results obtained with the vehicle?
The regulations set requirements for the result - the completeness, accuracy and reliability of the data - rather than prescribing the method. GOST R 70750-2023 sets the requirements for the equipment. The method is agreed in the work programme.
Does the vehicle work in turbid water?
Optics do not work at zero visibility - neither for a diver nor for the vehicle. For such conditions we fit a sonar.
Will it replace divers?
No. It covers visual survey, search and documentation. Contact inspection and repair remain a diver's job.
